Owner Bill Bender worked as the Lead Toyota Technician for Toyota of West Hartford in Connecticut in 1976. He went on to open Independent Datsun (now Independent Motors) in January, 1983. In 1985 we expanded to include all Toyota repairs. This makes us one of the oldest independent Toyota repair shops in Boulder.
Over the years Independent Motors has employed many Toyota Master Technicians. One even went on to work for a prominent Formula One racing team. Our Master Technician Tony Madrigal has been repairing Toyotas since 1985. We have since expanded to repairing all Asian and Domestic makes and models, but we still specialize in repairing all Toyota vehicles.
